St Johns Wort Simple

St Johns Wort Simple

$20.00Price

Throughout our human experience we will all feel the full spectrum of emotion, from the highest elations to the darkest depths of despair.  Life is a dance of light and dark.  Expansion and contraction.

During my time processing this year’s fresh St Johns Wort flower harvest, I was shown the most beautiful images of the light of God coming through even the smallest of cracks and holes to illuminate every crevice of our heart and soul, restoring strength, vigor, confidence, and connection to our own inner light as well as to our Creator.  The leaves of Hypericum Perforatum are dappled with teeny pinholes, just enough for the sunlight to come through.  What a beautiful reminder that God can use even the tiniest of holes and cracks to shine the divine light through to remind us of who we are and why we are here.

Remember that scene in the Lion King where Simba sees the vision of his Father and is guided to to remember who he is?  St Johns is your Mufasa.

Saint John's Wort is not merely an herb; it is a bridge between the celestial and earthly realms.  It is the Great Alchemist.  I encourage you to embrace the radiant energy of this remarkable herb, may you find solace, light, and renewal in its vibrant song, just as we do in the warm, life-giving rays of the Sun.

  • More About the Herbs

Saint John's Wort contains hyperforin and hypericin, compounds that are thought to regulate mood by affecting neurotransmitters in the brain. And while these two compounds have been studied by scientists attempting to isolate the “active” ingredients, it has been shown that it’s truly the orchestra of constituents in the plant that work synchronistically to bring about healing.  By embracing the whole plant, we can learn to embrace our whole selves.

In addition to the well known action on mild depression and melancholy, here are some other human experiences where St Johns may be of assistance:

*Sharp, shooting pain where nerves are involved

*Liver stagnancy, need for detoxification (including unresolved anger)

    *Weak Digestion/Leaky Gut

*Worn out or depleted nervous system

*Deep inner shadow work, strengthening the connection to the Solar Masculine

Side note, along with Milky Oats, St Johns Wort is another plant on the list that *must* be tinctured fresh.   When the plant is dried, the medicinal compounds dry out and lose potency.  You’ll know if you have a fresh tincture because the end result is a beautiful rich, dark red color.

And while I’m at it… a side side note…  this is also the one herb that I will express the importance of researching and considering your current regimen before working with St Johns.  While it has a strong effect on the liver including enhancing the detoxification pathways, this means that it will simultaneously have an effect on the body’s ability to metabolize certain pharmaceutical drugs.  Meds in the immunosuppressant, contraceptive, MAOI, SSRI, blood pressure, and chemo families may not play nice with St Johns (this is not an all-inclusive list, just some examples).
