One of the reasons Osha is referred to as “Bear Medicine” is because it’s been observed that when bears come out of hibernation, they seek out the roots of Osha to dig up and eat. This awakens their body after a long sleep and retreat, warming the blood, igniting metabolism, clearing stagnant fluid or mucous from the lungs, and firing up/nourishing the adrenals.
These are all places where we see Osha have the strongest healing signature. Clearing thick, old, stuck mucous from the lungs and waking up a body that has been stationary or removed from the outside world. AND in this physical herbal actions you can probably start to sense where Osha lends a hand spiritually and emotionally as well.
We’ve all had those times when we needed to retreat, to go deep within ourselves, into the darkest depths of the caves of our being to resolve traumas and do some intense healing. When it’s time to emerge with our truths and transformations, that can sometimes be a little scary. This is where Osha stands beside us. Taking our hand and helping us integrate the lessons that we have learned. Embodying new layers of self, igniting your path forward.
Energetically I visualize her as a large bear holding fire in her paws, here to sit with you until you are ready to emerge anew from your cave.
