Desert Rain Tallow Whip
A whipped body butter to nourish, moisturize, and leave the skin healthy, glowing, and smelling like a desert rainstorm.
Tallow is defined as the oil rendered from the suet (or kidney fat) of animals such as cows or sheep. When applied to the skin, it absorbs completely, isn’t greasy, and is a powerhouse of bioavailable nutrients. It’s usage goes back to some of the earliest mentions of skincare as it was used and revered by our ancestors who skillfully made use of all the parts of the animals that they ate, leaving nothing to waste.
Tallow is incredibly compatible with our skin, with both having a similar fatty-acid profile. It’s packed with bioavailable vitamins and nutrients that your skin needs for optimal health— fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E & K — in a form that’s easy for your skin to use. It’s also loaded with fatty acids that have a similar profile to our cell membranes, allowing it to penetrate the cell walls of our skin in a way a plant’s biology can’t. It is easily absorbed, penetrating your skin’s lipid barrier (where most water- and plant-based moisturizers just sit on top of the skin, having very little penetration) and nourishing deep into the skin.
We have sourced local, organic, pastured, mRNA-free beef suet and rendered it using a low-heat method over and over again (if you’re singing Nelly and Tim right now, we need to be friends) until it’s purified to a beautiful golden white and no longer smells beefy. We don’t need you attracting the wildlife as you roam the town. Once it’s rendered, it’s combined with other organic butters (shea or cocoa) and jojoba oil and whipped a few times until it’s about the consistency of frosting.
